Course overview

The Assistant Instructor course is the first half of the PADI IDC and can be completed as a standalone professional rating. It develops teaching skills in a supported environment and creates a natural route into the OWSI programme.

Before you start

Entry requirements

  • PADI Divemaster or qualifying leadership certification
  • Certified diver for at least six months and minimum age 18
  • At least 60 logged dives
  • Current medical approval and CPR/first aid training within 24 months
